Knoxville’s outdoor tables cluster downtown, on Market Square, in the Old City and at the edge of downtown along Broadway, and on the riverfront at Calhoun’s. West Knoxville has patios on Kingston Pike in Bearden and at Brookview Centre, and the southwest has a fire-pit patio and a sports-bar patio around Northshore Town Center.

How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records with a Knoxville address, the same data behind our local directory, checked against each place’s own website or chain location page on Oct. 18, 2026. A place is on this list only if its own site says it has a patio, deck, beer garden or outdoor seating; we did not count customer reviews quoted on a site. We added Calhoun’s on the River, Corner 16 and the Bearden and Northshore Soccer Taco restaurants from their own sites. The list is alphabetical. Balter Beerworks, a brewery and restaurant at the edge of the Old City, has a beer garden it offers for gatherings and events.

Calhoun’s on the River sits on the Tennessee River across from campus, with outdoor and enclosed deck spaces and a dock where guests can tie up boats. Its site lists a separate deck menu.

Corner 16 at Northshore describes its restaurant as family-friendly, with a bar area and an outdoor patio with fire pits. It serves brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on weekends.

El Metate on Sam Walton Way lists outdoor seating, a full bar and a free parking lot.

Five Guys at Brookview Centre lists outdoor seating with dine-in, takeout and delivery.

K Brew North Knox on North Broadway, in a former Texaco station, has a covered patio it calls the hammock room, with 10 hammock seats over green turf.

Kaizen in the Old City offers dine-in service inside, at the bar and on its outdoor patio.

Mia Piccola North Knoxville on North Broadway lists pet-friendly patio seating.

Nama Sushi Bar in Bearden has a spacious dining room, outdoor patio seating and a full bar.

P.F. Chang’s on Kingston Pike lists patio dining among its features.

Soccer Taco lists a covered, pet-friendly outdoor patio at all three Knoxville restaurants, with TVs on the patios on Market Square and in Bearden.

Tupelo Honey on Market Square has outdoor seating on a spacious patio, where pets are welcome.

Union Place Bar & Grill on Chambliss Avenue hosts live music on its patio on Friday and Saturday nights, weather permitting.

Zalate Taqueria on Stekoia Lane advertises a dog-friendly patio and brunch daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
