Two weeks are left in the regular season for Knoxville’s high school teams, and the TSSAA state playoffs start Friday, Nov. 6. Knoxville Central (7-1) and Knoxville Catholic (7-1) have the best records among the city’s schools, with Austin-East and South-Doyle at 6-2. Most games kick off at 7 p.m.; the TSSAA lists all times as local (Eastern).

  • Fulton at South-Doyle, Friday, Oct. 30: two Knoxville schools meet in the last week of the regular season, in a region game.
  • West at Powell, Thursday, Oct. 29: a region game; Powell beat Central 42-41 in overtime on Sept. 24, Central’s only loss.
  • Central at Karns, Thursday, Oct. 29: Central closes the regular season on the road.

How the season has gone

  • Knoxville Central opened with a 30-29 win at Dobyns-Bennett, beat Fulton 42-0 and Halls 49-33, and lost only to Powell.
  • Knoxville Catholic has beaten Lipscomb Academy, Ensworth and McCallie, and lost to Montgomery Bell Academy.
  • South-Doyle beat Austin-East 41-19 in the opener and won at Clinton 33-28 on Oct. 16.
  • Austin-East has won six games, including 53-0 over Carter on Oct. 16.
