Market Square Farmers Market runs Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through October, then 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. November to March. SNAP and Double Up accepted.

Last checked Oct. 17, 2026. Facts come from Nourish Knoxville, the nonprofit that runs the city’s two main producer-only markets: its Market Square Farmers Market, New Harvest Farmers Market and SNAP and Double Up Food Bucks pages.

Knoxville’s biggest farmers market is the Market Square Farmers Market downtown, run by the nonprofit Nourish Knoxville and open year-round except in April. Through October it runs Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Wednesdays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; from November through March, it moves to Saturdays only, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Everything sold is grown, raised or made by the vendors within 150 miles of Knoxville.

Market Square Farmers Market

The market sells fruits and vegetables, eggs, honey, pasture-raised meats, plants, cut flowers, bread and baked goods, jams, coffee and crafts, with what is on the tables changing by season. The last summer-schedule Wednesday market is Oct. 28 and the last summer Saturday is Oct. 31; the winter Saturday market begins in November.

Paying: most vendors take cards. If one does not, buy Market Money tokens in $5 steps with a card at the information booth; they spend like cash, with a $2 fee per transaction.

Parking:

  • Saturdays: free at the Locust Street, Langley and State Street garages; the Market Square garage charges a $3 flat rate. Meters around the square charge by the hour.
  • Wednesdays: hourly parking in the Market Square, Locust Street, Langley and State Street garages, and hourly meters.
  • Transit: KAT routes serving Knoxville Station Transit Center stop a few blocks away.

Good to know: leashed dogs are allowed only in marked pet-friendly areas and outside the market footprint. Public restrooms are on the ground floor of the Market Square Garage, and a free bottle-refill station sits at the south end of the square from May through October.

New Harvest Farmers Market

Held Thursdays from 3 to 6 p.m., April through September, at New Harvest Park in northeast Knoxville, in partnership with Knox County Parks and Recreation. The season has ended for 2026. The park has free paved parking, a playground, a splash pad open May 15 to Sept. 15, a dog park and walking trails, and KAT’s Route 23 (Millertown) stops a few tenths of a mile away.

SNAP and Double Up Food Bucks

Both markets take SNAP/EBT through tokens:

  1. Take your EBT card to the market information booth and choose an amount.
  2. Spend the SNAP tokens on any SNAP-eligible food at the market.
  3. The market adds free Double Up Food Bucks tokens, up to $50 a day, for fresh fruits and vegetables. Nourish Knoxville’s example: get $10 in SNAP tokens and you receive $20 more.

Double Up is also offered at partner grocers and markets across East Tennessee; see the Nourish Knoxville list.
